Bachelor’s with honours in management studies (BMS)
This course was introduced after three popular management courses — BBS, BBE and BFIA — were done away with. BMS has been planned with the help of the Faculty of Management Studies, among the most popular MBA institutes in the country. The main objective of the course is to create skilled managerial professionals in the global market.

Today’s competitive market is in great demand of professionally certified management professionals. The course imparts adequate entrepreneurship skills in the participants to carry out the administrative activities of an organization. These professionals are supposed to coordinate and manage the overall activities of a firm including HR, Finance, Operations, etc. Anyway the responsibilities assigned with the candidate depend on the type of the organization where they are supposed to work.

ELIGIBILITY

Eligibility criterion for general category students is a minimum of 60% in best of four subjects, including English. For students under OBC and SC/ST categories, it will be 54% and 50%, respectively.

Mathematics not compulsory for commerce
Meanwhile, admission to the four-year undergraduate programme in commerce will now be for bachelor with honours in commerce from this year.

The test will comprise objective type questions. There is no prescribed format for the test but areas such as quantitative ability, reasoning and analytical ability, general English, business and general awareness. Candidates will be required to attempt 100 questions in 120 minutes.

There will be negative marking for wrong answers. Selection will be based on written exam (50%), Class 12 result (30%), and interview (20%). Based on the performance in the written examination, selected candidates shall be called for group discussion and interview.
